Mt Vesuvius, Naples
This was our first stop for Spring Break in Naples. Mt Vesuvius is an active volcano and first blew its top in AD 79 and it deeply buried Pompeii and Herculaneum. We drove up as far as we could and then hiked the remaining 600 meters. The crater is 200 meters deep and 600 meters wide.

Kendy wants to see you guys TODAY! She loves the history lessons and is so excited to share her knowledge on "her volcano, Mt. St. Helens that blew it's top in 1980.....Mt Hood still has it's top on.." she is starting to draw pictures so the girls can "see" her mountains.
